Biography

Dr. Stefan Strohmeier is an assistant professor in soil physics and soil erosion at the Institute of Soil Physics and Rural Water Management (SoPhy), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria. His research focuses on soil erosion processes, water management, sustainable land use, and the impact of climate change on soil degradation. Academic Background and Career: He holds a PhD in Soil Science/Soil Physics from an institution that is not publicly listed, most likely BOKU or a related European university. Assistant Professor at BOKU’s Institute of Soil Physics and Rural Water Management (SoPhy), where he conducts research and teaches courses in soil physics, hydrology, and erosion control. Previously worked as a researcher and project leader in various national and international projects related to soil conservation, water resource management, and sustainable agriculture. Research focus includes soil erosion modeling (e.g., USLE, RUSLE, process-based models) and the effects of tillage and land management on soil structure and runoff. Climate change impacts on soil and water resources, sustainable agricultural practices to mitigate soil degradation, and field experiments and laboratory analyses of soil hydraulic properties. Professional Affiliations: member of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), Participation in soil science and agronomy conferences worldwide, Collaboration with agricultural and environmental agencies for policy-relevant soil protection strategies.
