In pursuit of its vision and mission, ARARI strives to generate appropriate agricultural technologies that contribute the enhanced and sustainable agricultural productivity, competitiveness, economic growth, food security and poverty eradication.
Establishment and organizational structure
The Amhara Regional Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI) was established in 1999/2000 by the ANRS council proclamation number 48/1992 as an autonomous apex body to undertake, guide and consolidate agricultural research in Amhara region. With its led by a Director General and Deputy Director General and organized under five research directorates (core processes) namely, Crop, Animal, Soil & Water, Forestry, and Agrucultural Mechanization and Food Science Research. It is assisted by six support processes: Purchase-Finance-Supply management, Manpower Management, Information Communication-Technology, public Relations, Planning- Monitoring -Evaluation, Customer service- Complaint hearing and Internal Auditing. Research centers are led by a Director and organized into core and support processes
